Douglas, the Isle of Man's capital, is fringed by a Victorian style promenade overlooking the magnificent 2-mile crescent of Douglas Bay.
Douglas has the busiest harbour on the Isle of Man and offers plenty of shops, waterside cafes, bars and entertainment as well as the opportunity to visit places of historical interest such as the Gaiety Theatre, one of the finest surviving Matcham theatres and the historical parliament buildings of Tynwald (The oldest parliament in the world in continuous existence)
The Douglas Horse Trams run along the sea front reminding visitors of a more relaxed way of life. Head south on the Victorian Steam Railway or north on the Electric Tramway.Douglas is an ideal destination from which to explore the whole of the Isle of Man.
